The Navigator Company é um produtor integrado de floresta, pasta e papel, tissue e energia. A sua atividade alicerçada em fábricas modernas de grande escala, com tecnologia de ponta fazem da companhia uma referência de qualidade no setor.
Somos a terceira maior exportadora em Portugal e a maior geradora de Valor Acrescentado Nacional, representando aproximadamente 1% do PIB nacional, cerca de 3% das exportações nacionais de bens, perto de 6% do total da carga contentorizada exportada pelos portos nacionais.
Atualmente, a nossa capacidade instalada ronda os 1,6 milhões de toneladas de papel, de 1,5 milhões de toneladas de pasta (80% integradas em papel), 130 mil toneladas de Tissue e 2,5 TWh/ano de energia elétrica.
Abertos ao mundo, os nossos produtos têm como destino aproximadamente 130 países nos cinco continentes, com destaque para a Europa e EUA, alcançando assim a mais ampla presença a nível internacional entre as empresas portuguesas. Também nos destacamos na produção de energia a partir de biomassa:
- Mais de 50 % do total da energia produzida em Portugal a partir de biomassa é gerada pela The Navigator Company.
- 5% da produção total de energia elétrica em Portugal é gerada pela Companhia.
A Navigator é líder europeu na produção de papéis finos de impressão e escrita não revestidos (UWF) e sexto a nível mundial. Somos também o maior produtor europeu, o quinto a nível mundial, de pasta branqueada de eucalipto BEKP - Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft Pulp.
Em Moçambique, continuamos a progredir com o maior projeto florestal integrado de produção de pasta para papel deste país.
Na Europa Ocidental, a estratégia de inovação e desenvolvimento de marcas próprias e de produtos premium traduz-se numa quota de mercado de 19% no UWF e de cerca de 50% no segmento premium.
