Being happy in the company where we work is the goal of many of us. Can we find the happiest organizations?
This being an increasingly popular topic, Georg Dutschke and Guilhermina Vaz Monteiro, created the study “Hapiness Works” in 2011 in partnership with Lukkap Portugal, Universidade Atlântica, Revista Exame, ACEGE - Christian Association of Entrepreneurs and Managers, APG - Associação Portuguese People Management, Happy Brands and Sociedade Rebelo de Sousa Advogados.
But how do they calculate organizational happiness?
This is measured through the happiness index of employees with the organization and the happiness index of employees with their function. According to the study, in the year 2020, despite all the difficulties felt in companies, a slight increase in the level of organizational happiness was observed in all sectors of activity, except the creative industries, tourism, restaurants and leisure. This is due to the way companies approached the problem and ensured, as far as possible, the well-being and sustainability of their employees.
In addition, one of the most relevant conclusions of this study is the relationship between organizational happiness and profitability, indicating that those who are happier at work are much more profitable.
